CURRICULUM

We know just what it takes to engage children. At iMontessori, we provide a customised approach to each and every child to integrate their learning through engagement, exploration and self-reflection. Our unique teaching is supported by our low teacher to student ratio, almost half that of the government required ratio.

We use the core Montessori principles which includes: respect for the child, the absorbent mind, sensitive periods, the prepared environment, and auto-education.

Respect for the child

We help children learn to do things for themselves and giving them choices, develop skills & abilities necessary for effective learning autonomy & positive self-esteem.

Children are born with constant readiness and ability to learn, and what they learn depends greatly on their teachers, experiences, and environments. Our teachers continually stimulate each child’s mind to develop through assimilating new skills, concepts and knowledge.

Sensitive Periods

Our teachers are trained to recognise the readiness of each child to different periods that the child is more susceptible to certain behaviours and can learn specific skills more easily. Our individualised approach with low teacher to child ratio caters to the varying sequence and timing for each child.

The Prepared Environment

Our prepared Montessori environment makes learning materials and experiences available to children in an orderly format allowing children a place in which to do things for themselves. This facilitates each and every child to learn best in a child-centered education and active learning.

Children are actively involved in a prepared environment and exercise freedom of choice. Montessori teachers prepare classrooms so that children educate themselves. 

Key Elements of Our Programmes

Our curriculum is built around the five pillars of Montessori Education, supporting the natural development of children in a well-prepared environment. These are practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language and cultural studies. With our unique and customised approach, we believe in fostering a creative, collaborative, and engaging experience to stimulate and nurture our children to reach their full potential and help them pursue their dreams.

English

Our classes are designed to develop fluent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.  To instill, develop and hone their reading and writing skills, children have English and Mandarin classes that focus on speaking, writing, reading and listening skills. ​

Within our overall timetable, each class has its own individual daily schedule which will be given according to your child’s class and session. We have a half day and full day programme based on your child care need. Detailed daily schedule will be available at the counter.

Pre-Primary

Our Pre-primary programme is carefully planned with the aim to help children, not only to prepare them for primary education, but to acquire them with skills needed to succeed in school. Our children excel in their literacy skills with the help of child-friendly phonics and reading program. Besides reading and phonics program, we focus on developing children’s listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a variety of engaging and dynamic activities such as storytelling, dramatization, picture talk, show-and-tell and more to prepare them for primary education.
